Hill Academy of Dance & Performing Arts aims to maintain an ethos and an environment in which ayoungdancer can work with seriousness and sensitivity along with fun and creativity to enjoy their time with us.

Young children love to move, be it at play or when listening to music. Dance can be a way of life to help a child develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially from an early age through to adulthood. Children develop the foundations for the rest of their lives in their early years, what better way for this to happen than in an environment that they love such as dancing, acting and singing. Our students are encouraged to enjoy themselves and in doing so develop their own personalities and confidence, and are accepted for who they are, no matter their level of talent.

Our purpose is to be a performing arts school that conforms to standards set by professional dance and theatrical training schools where students are always encouraged to do their best. Hill Academy provides the opportunity for students to reach a high level of professional and personal accomplishment and allows them to realise the depth of their experiential and expressive potential as a person and an artist. While becoming a professional artist may not be the goal of all students, they can experience the poise, grace, elegance, increased strength, mental alertness, and enormous feeling of self confidence that comes from an education in the performing arts.

As children grow older dance can continue to be a hobby for some, or a future career choice for others.
Whatever a child's goal, dance frequently produces confident, well co-ordinated young people, with good posture, self respect and respect for others. It is also a fun hobby which gives young people the chance to experience the thrill of performance and the satisfaction of progressing and gaining qualifications with international bodies, such as, R.A.D and I.S.T.D. We also believe that attending dancing isn't all about exams.

Message from the Artistic Director - Karrie Hill
As a teacher of dance for the past 8 years, and having recently moved to Canada from England, I bring a wealth of experience in dance teaching in many genres to Hill Academy. My vision is that Hill Academy of Dance & Performing Arts will be a leader in providing students with a varied and constructive program in dance, acting and musical theatre. We will build on the student’s self confidence, assist in improving their mental and physical discipline, help to improve posture and co-ordination and provide an outlet for their creative and artistic expression.

"Our qualified teachers work together as a strong team to provide Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (I.S.T.D) Tap and Jazz/Modern, Hip Hop, Acro, Musical Theatre and Acting.
